AB needs to support PPs. This will avert the need to manually pick change the insertion point which will be needed quite often. The new PPs introduced by platfrom are also persistent which means that when the assembly needs to be replaced, this can be done accurately. Placement Points mimic connection points which recognises the fact that most objects and assemblies have to be connected to other objects and assemblies.
How frequently will feature be used? | A few times a day |
How much time will you save? | Manually picking an insertion point when is slow and error prone. A lot less fatigue in use and time correcting small inaccuracies that will be hard to spot. |
Persistence: there should be an option to preserve the PP post-insertion... If PPs are included using the Mstn Parametric Components>Placement Points tool they are preserved. This should align better and avoid UX noise.
There should be an option to use the Global Origin 0,0,0 or the active Floor / ACS 0,0,0. I can see this being a big help when adding Assemblies across floors and separate files. Also corrects one of Mstn's Copy + Paste longstanding problems
