It would be a good idea if in a drawing you could override part join configurations and create a new configuration for that drawing.

For example, join all the walls, pillars, partitions, etc. in a floor plan or only join the walls of the same material or join walls but not join pillars, etc.

In a 1:500 scale section it is still better to join all the pieces to reduce lines and avoid a drawing that looks like a black spot.

This could be controlled with display rules.
