Native Revit file
Here in Holland the Architect, contructions, mechanical and Electric firms demand to use Revit. In their BIM protocols they demand to collaborate with RVT and IFC files. They demand me to collaborate this way. I don't have any solution. Because I'm since 1995 a Bentley user. So my clients don't give me assignments anymore, because I can't delivere RVT files, only IFC.
How frequently will feature be used? | A few times a week |
How much time will you save? | Don't know, because I have to learn Revit |
I hope dev team and leading managers will create some solution for OBD users. Because now and in the future it will be a fact that Revit will be the BIM software for all projects. Because OBD users experience this, but I think dev team and managers don't want to hear this fact. Because they are focusing on big infrastructure projects. Because on linkedIn they are promoting bridges using context capture and not so much in building projects and the air and water that flows in a building. You can compare a building with a human body. It needs air and water, and needs an inspection time to time. So when managers can promote this, I think OBD will be known as a big responsible software to use!
This question has been asked to me too. Fontunatly, the ifc is also accepted, but in Belgium most companies that use BIM use Revit, and people expect to get their softwares native format.
at least 1 time a week I will use it
Maybe dev team will create a button in OBD/Microstation to export dgn files to rvt files.
