The CW tool ignores the ACS, Accudraw orientation when the CW is placed (ACS Plan Lock on etc).
This is not expected behaviour, and severely limits the usability of the tool.
The CW object can be rotated to match the ACS after being placed. Being able to use the ACS to skip this intermediate steps is important. The use of ACS is common as most objects in a BIM model will need to be positioned and replaced intelligently with higher or lower LOD proxies, versions in due course. The number of entities, snapping points also make (re)positioning, maneouvering the CW into place very laborious and error-prone.
It seems like the CW object is not written with a local CS and bases all its calculations on the global CS. See also OBD-I-218.
Please enhance the CW tool to work with ACS'.

How frequently will feature be used? | A few times a day |
How much time will you save? | Lots. CW tool provides a fast way to model panelised building elements, which go beyond curtain walls. A lot of building products come in sheet or panel formats and are fixed to a support grid. |
Hi Dominic, Can you please give us some visual examples as a guidance of what you are exactly referring to?
