When you group elements it creates an orphan cell so when you apply Part and Family it only applies to the Cell Header not all the elements in the Group "orphan cell".
Need to have a "Change Whole Elements" like there is in the Change tool.
And on the same line with this Grouped item when Exporting to IFC they are 1 element need to be able to have them dropped to individual elements.

Thank you for your idea. This workflow will solve some of the mentioned problems: Select the elements - apply family+parts and then group the elements.
You are asking for a change in the IFC export. We consider the current IFC workflow as Works As Designed.
We will look into the point you mentioned: "Need to have a "Change Whole Elements" like there is in the Change tool."
