When exporting IFC and when working with projects that contain multiple buildings, there is no single way to assign the reference files to a single building.
Every reference within the file path has to be selected seperately to assign the building. this takes a massive amount of time, and is just so bad.
The master file should be able to be assigned to the building, then the spatial containment should only contain the floor to enable manual override if the wrong floor is picked up automatically.

I'm not certain I understand the description. However I can relate to defining building/floor to (nested) reference files in the IFC export.
Moreover I find it quite annoying that I have to set this for each model from which I create in IFC export, even if it contains (some) the same referenced models. I'd say we rather set this as a property to a model. I don't think the same model should be exported as different buildings/floors depending on where it is referenced into?
