The fact that element fill in display style "Filled Visible Edges" only works when Visible Edge setting is set to "Dynamic" is really annoying!
For example making Elevation drawings wanting to use a simple fill on steel SW panels or window/door frames, ... is very common. Now I have to set to "Dynamic" which is really not working fluently.
How frequently will feature be used? | A few times a week |
How much time will you save? | A lot! Cached visible edges works much more fluently, certainly when set to "manual". Now with setting "Dynamic" window almost freezes for half a minute each time I turn on/off a level, make a change to display rule, ... |
Thank you for filing this idea. It is a MicroStation-related topic, as mentioned by you. The following items have already been filed about filled visible edges in cached view:
Product Backlog Item 715345: [PP Dependency] Shape fill became invisible in Cached view
Bug 886171: [PP Dependency] Fill is disappearing in cached mode when the display style is set to Filled Hidden Line: Modelling
We are in contact with the MicroStation team and will let you know about any progress.
@Dominic, I know. But it wasn't on this platform yet, so I thought I add it for completeness' sake ...
Long requested...

I understand that this is more of a Mstn platform function. The OBD dev team has more input on the cut plane. I think this for OBD's Building Views / Rules annotation etc.
