OBD's Profile tool is quite powerful. A lot of building elements are linear and can be modeled this way.
Mstn's new Perforator tool is also powerful as it complements solid modeling by providing the 'negative' of solids ie voids.
Together, both functionalities would complement each other and greatly expand the Profile tools power.
Use cases: chases in walls, kerbs and slabs, trenches, channels in structural slabs, foundations. Early phase mass modeling etc.

How frequently will feature be used? | Several times a day |
How much time will you save? | Lots as it will be part of Mstn / OBD's general modeling toolset |
Hi Dominic, Just for clarification. We understand you would like to place a profile that also creates a recess or niche in e.g. a wall, slab or other element where it is placed.
Hi there, thank you for your valuable idea! We will evaluate this for one of the future OpenBuildings Designer releases
