The IFC schema allows for a lot more quantities on an ifcSpace (Qto_SpaceBaseQuantities): https://standards.buildingsmart.org/IFC/RELEASE/IFC4/ADD2_TC1/HTML/schema/ifcproductextension/qset/qto_spacebasequantities.htm. Please implement those in OBD & IFC export.

Hello Johan, Thank you for your feedback. We are currently investigating updating the IFC interface in OBD which is required to meet your idea as your list points to IFC 4 ADD2_TC1. This update of the IFC 4 interface is currently not available in OBD.

I think the use cases are really straightforward; I want to know the total floor area for a bunch of rooms, based on the selection in the IFC file. They should just be there! Maybe I'll use a filter on the "Floor material" properties or something similar if they have been defined in OBD.
Similarly, using the NetWallArea to determine the amount of paint needed for the rooms.
The GrossCeilingArea for determination of suspended ceiling tiles.
