When wanting to use Display rules on OBD elements (with DG data) it's not possible to filter on a common property for all types of elements. The user needs to select and add each and every catalog type.
Improving this open a lot of possible use cases for easy verification and visualisation in the 3D environment. When comparing to Revit, the filters work better. The user also has to select all "categories" but it's just with check boxes.
A better example are the "Smart Views" in BIMCollab Zoom. The user has the choice to filter on all elements or on a specific category.
How frequently will feature be used? | Several times a day |
How much time will you save? | Since it will give better insight in the model (missing properties, visual grouping, ...) I think it will save quite a bit of time. Currently I always export to IFC to do those kind of checks in BIMCollab Zoom. |
Hi Johan, thank you for this idea request.
We did some investigations and found workflows to generally apply display rules by fire rating or phase. We will create a wiki explaining the workflow in the near future and post the link to the wiki in the forum post. We have changed the state of the idea to shipped as the solution is already available.
