Would it be possible to calculate the room acoustic properties in OBES?
Since OBES is already tracking the thermal properties of the enclosing wall, ceiling and floor elements, it should be relatively straightforward to also include the acoustic properties of the enclosing elements to generate the noise levels in the rooms. The geometric and area properties are also in the model.
The interdependency between room acoustic requirements and the noise rating of the MEP equipment and ducts is something that is often missed in the MEP design.
Usually thrown over the wall to the acoustic engineer which results in labourious clash detection type resolution overheads. Simple enough for the architect to do 90% of the time.

How frequently will feature be used? | A few times a day |
How much time will you save? | Lots especially since noise levels, speech inteligibility criteria are client or statutory requirements for an increasing number of building types.. |
Insul seems to be a popular app to use to calculate barrier performance. License API to work within OBSE?
SoundPlan also looks quite interesting.
